About Us
Million Barrels Ltd was founded in 2020 with the aim of providing Petroleum Engineering and Production Technology to the upstream Oil and Gas industry, with skills transferable to the Renewable Energy industry. We are a firm believer in ‘Sustainable Energy’ and always keep the Environment and Health & Safety foremost in the services and solutions we provide.
Million Barrels Ltd is a newly formed company providing industry leading Petroleum Engineering and Production Technology services in a wide variety of aspects of the upstream Oil and Gas industry, spreading across the entire hydrocarbon ‘funnel’, and in every possible location/environment, from remote onshore to Deepwater. Our extensive experience also lends itself well to transferability of skills to the Renewable Energy industry.

The Team
Million Barrels Ltd was founded by Murtaza Amin.
Murtaza is a broad-based industry professional with extensive experience in various technical and leadership roles across the hydrocarbon funnel. Experience ranges from operational roles to subsurface leadership roles, in deepwater to remote onshore environments. Murtaza has spent a significant portion of the first decade of his career, at the wellsite, executing well completion and services operations. Developing young industry professionals is a particular skill that he has developed over the years.
Murtaza has the expertise to build capability portfolios in diverse areas of Petroleum Engineering, Production Technology, Well Engineering, Field Development Planning, Well & Reservoir Management, Digital Oilfield, Reserves & Resources Evaluation, Portfolio Evaluation, Arbitration Technical Support.
We have the capability to provide services to you remotely, as well as blending seamlessly into your organization and teams, depending on your preferences and requirements.

Murtaza did a fantastic job leading an intelligent well project in Mozambique for Sasol; the first such well in the basin so it was challenging to carry it through the various internal gates. It resulted in a world-first 9-zone all-electric completion, delivered and tested as per plan. It was such a complicated engineering, planning and installation task, with so many potential failure modes, that it required among other things an FMECA which Murtaza organized perfectly.
